In 2024, Company MEK has launched a new program for and by the community that moves in hip hop culture. With Common Ground – The Program, Company MEK wants to enter into a conversation with the local scene and research what it takes to work in a theater context. With this program, Muhammed Kaltuk and the MEK company aim to strengthen the Swiss dance scene, allow it to grow and open up a path to the theater.
Common Ground will take place with invited dancers at Zürich and/or Basel. At the end of each month, the researched material will be presented in showings. The instructors will decide in the middle of each month whether such a showing will take place – showing dates will be announced here and on social media.
